PDP Tsauri Ward Executives Disown Fake Suspension Letter Circulating on Social Media

Kurfi, Katsina State – 15th September 2024

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Tsauri "A" Ward, Kurfi Local Government, Katsina State, has issued a disclaimer regarding a fake letter circulating on social media. The letter, purportedly signed by members of the Tsauri "A" Ward Executive Committee, falsely claims that the suspension of Dist. Sen. Umar Ibrahim Tsauri, CON, has been endorsed by the party.

In a statement released by the ward executives, they clarified that the letter is a forgery and should be disregarded by the public and party members. They emphasized that Sen. Tsauri remains a key pillar of support for the PDP, both within Katsina State and at the national level.

The incident came to light following a recent meeting convened by the new state PDP chairman, who invited the Tsauri "A" Ward executives to Katsina for an emergency discussion about the state of the party in the local government. During the meeting, it was agreed that a permanent reconciliation with Sen. Tsauri would be sought. However, within hours of the meeting, a fake suspension letter began circulating online.

In their response, the Tsauri "A" Ward executives stated:

> "We cannot bite the fingers that feed us. Dist. Sen. Umar Ibrahim Tsauri remains not only our pillar of support but also the leader of the party, a father and mentor to every genuine member of the party in the entire Katsina State and beyond."

They further stressed that the letter is an attempt to tarnish the reputation of both Sen. Tsauri and the party. The executives disassociated themselves from the document, reiterating that only the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) has the authority to suspend a high-ranking member such as Sen. Tsauri, who once served as the National Secretary of the party.

The public and party members are urged to disregard the fake document, dated 13th September 2024, as the ward executives' meeting took place on 14th September 2024.

The executives assure that the PDP in Kurfi remains united under the leadership of Sen. Umar Tsauri and calls on all members to stay focused on the party’s objectives.
